Hi I’m Dom!
Thank you for meeting me here.
I’m excited to tell you a little bit about myself, what I’m currently up to, and how I got here. If you want the bullet-point version, scroll to the bottom. If you’re up for the scenic route, stay with me.
Cooking, Serving, Eating?
I’ll explain:
I cook. I am a personal chef and I am currently available for retreats, private events, celebration dinners, and meal prep. I service the greater Austin, TX area. I’m also a part-time baker at Zucchini Kill, a vegan and gluten-free bakery.
My professional career began in the corporate world, where I specialized in medical and dental outsourcing solutions. I always told myself I would go to culinary school “after I made it.” I realized that I could just cook to “make it.” So I completed Salt Lake Culinary Institute’s culinary program and specialized in gluten-free recipe modification. My first time on the line was at Omni Barton Creek Hotel in Austin, TX. My line serviced 3 restaurants throughout the hotel and specialized in BBQ, TexMex, and American classics. I eventually joined the banquet kitchen, where we serviced parties from 10-700 guests. I left the hotel in November of 2025 and have been freelancing since.
I serve, I currently serve on the board of Austin Dyke March, a group of community organizers who facilitate an annual march in Austin. As the Safety Coordinator, I am proud to contribute to creating a safe space for celebrating dykes of all kinds.
I eat. I am currently the Creative Team Director at Glaze Zine, an Austin, TX based collaborative editorial magazine. I applied to join Glaze’s styling team when I first moved to Austin, only having practiced styling for Instagram fit pics. I was giddy upon acceptance and even giddier when I saw my art published in a magazine for the first time. I spent my following volume as the Styling Director, then joined the executive team in 2026. I am proud to work with Glaze and invest in the creative community of Austin.
My fashion awakening was seeing Fran Fine walk down the stairs in some fantastic getup at least twice an episode of The Nanny. Oh, and playing Imagine: Fashion Designer on my Nintendo DS in 2007. In my styling work now, I strive to create immersive visual experiences. I enjoy elaborate set building, prop making, and designing/modifying garments to help match initial visions. I pull inspiration from historical silhouettes and blended aesthetics. I have a variety of styling packages available: closet consultation + styling, travel wardrobe capsule creation, an hourly styling rate, or ongoing styling retainer agreements.
So that’s me, if you boiled me down into three digestible bites. I couldn’t pick a single lane if I tried, and I don’t want to try. Each of my mediums inform the others. I’ve found the best color palettes for looks while unloading a pallet of produce into a walk-in cooler. Seeing the way fabric moves when draped a certain way inspires my spoon when I’m plating a sauce.
Please enjoy my digital portfolio. Across the various pages, you’ll find my service offerings in more detail, a calendar of the upcoming events I’m involved with producing, an event gallery, my styling portfolio, and my contact information if you feel called to collaborate.
Thank you for reading, I love you!
Xoxo, Dom
